On October 12th and also the 90th anniversary of the Law School, a launching ceremony was held at the School of Law, XMU to mark the first issue of its own journal Research on Modern Rule of Law, which would have important implications on the academic research and discipline construction of the School.

Mr. Song Fangqing, dean of the Law School, pointed out in his speech that now is the big chance for the School of Law to develop and expand the legal education as well as the study of law with new dimensions. The esblishment of the journal will hopefully bring prosperity to the law research in China and give momentum to the construction of the modern Chinese legal system. Besides, the dean also mentioned the fact that as early as 1926, Xiamen University had already established its quarterly journal called “Legal Tides”. Today ,he said, this new journal Research on Modern Rule of Law ,which is run by the top-tier academic team of the School of Law, will mark a milestone in the history of XMU to renew its old glory.

In addition, a symposium was also held at the end of the ceremony, during which the editors brainstormed and discussed heatedly about how to promote the journal quality and shared their most valuable advice and opinions.
