XMU unveils its aerocraft health management technology research center

On the morning of Oct 10th, XMU inaugurated with great fanfare its aerocraft health management technology research center at the Science and Art Center.Present at the ceremony were such honored guests as Mr. Zhu Chongshi, president of Xiamen University, Mr. Wang Yueping, the Deputy Director of Xiamen Municipal Government General Office (on behalf of Xiamen Deputy Mayor Ni Chao), Academician Yin Zeyong from School of Aerospace Engineering XMU, Academician Ou Jinping from Harbin Institute of Technology, Mr. Chen Min, the Deputy Director of Xiamen free trade experiment area Chen Min, and other distinguished experts in the field as well as the administrative chiefs and representatives of teachers and students from the School of Aerospace Engineering, XMU. Prof. Qing Xinlin, director of the research center and chairman of the organizing committee , presided over the ceremony.


Academician Yin Zeyong, the honorary president of the conference, delivered a welcoming speech. He pointed out in his address that the application of the aerocraft health management technology, after over 20 years of development, has already become a significant mark of the advancement and market competitiveness of the aerocraft and engines. Meanwhile, he also emphasized the necessity and urgency for China to develop its own aerocraft health management technology in alignment with China’s big planes and engine research project.


Mr. Wang Yueping, on behalf of Xiamen Municipal Government and the Deputy Mayor Ni Chao, extended warm congratulations to the establishment of the research center. And he made the point that the establishment of XMU aerocraft health management technology research center is definitely an event in terms of both the disciplinary construction of XMU and the aviation industry development in Xiamen. Furthermore, it will not only fuel the  growth of the discipline of aerocraft health management in XMU, but also play a pivotal role in helping Xiamen become a one-stop global maintenance base for various airplanes, which would rev up local aviation industry with the cutting-edge tech support, and thus to meet the strategic goal of developing China’s own large aircrafts.
