Vice President Zhan visits San Diego State University

On October 7th (local time), Ms. Zhan Xinli, vice president of XMU, and her delegation paid a visit to San Diego State University (SDSU) of the United States. The delegation was warmly received by SDSU president, Mr. Elliot Hirshman, and other officials and staff of SDSU and the SDSU Confucius Institute.

Ms. Zhan and her delegation also inspected the makeover work of the Multi-functional Cultural Display Center, a venue dedicated for the use of the SDSU Exemplary Confucius Institute. Dr. Liu Lirong, managing director of SDSU Confucius Institute, updated the XMU delegation on the progress and functions of the Center. She invited Ms. Zhan to attend the Center's inauguration ceremony next year. Ms. Zhan spoke highly of the design of the Center, and expressed support for the sharing of talents and resources in traditional Chinese calligraphy, painting and museum expertise between XMU and SDSU, and for hosting joint calligraphy and cultural heritage displays.

Vice President Zhan attends the 2016 SDSU Confucius Institute Board Meeting    

 

The visit is expected to deepen the friendship between the two universities, strengthen bilateral communication and cooperation, establish a closer partnership, and boost the development of the SDSU Confucius Institute.
