Members of XMU team win the top prize at the final competition of China-US Young Maker Competition

From August 15-18, the final of 2016 China-US Young Maker Competition took place in Beijing. Members of XMU team won the exclusive first prize, the Best Popularity Award, and Award for Excellence.

2016 China-US Young Maker Competition was part of the seventh round of high rank exchange activities of China-US cultural exchanges. It won the support of leaders from both countries, and attracted 3000 players and 800 teams from both countries.

The first prize and the best popularity prize went to a work called "Intelligent atomization partner for children". The device can be easily installed between the atomization mask and the medicine cup. Through a sensor which can be used to collect children's respiratory signal that is transferred to cellphone through blue-tooth, it can control the fairy's movement in the matching game, therefore it improves children's willingness and the treatment's effectiveness through interactive games. It can also produces quantitative data to analyze and manage the treatment plans, turning the traditional atomizer into an intelligent one and realizing the "Internet plus" strategy.

One of the leaders of the team is an alumnus of the School of Information of XMU, another is Dr. Wang Chunfeng, of Chenggong hospital, affiliated hospital of XMU. The team members are Yuan Lulu, an undergraduate student of the School of Information Science and Engineering, XMU, and Zhan Xiantong, Lin Xiang and Cai Haihui, students of Xiamen College of Arts and Crafts, Fuzhou University.
